Policy perspectives

How do you keep the idea of an essential medicines list fresh? Who needs to know about an innovative way to deliver youth mental health services? How do you make research findings relevant to communities? These were some of the questions raised by 25 key stakeholders and decision makers from government, health care organizations as well as patients at OSSU’s most recent Research Round Table.

The goal? To showcase the results and impact of several OSSU IMPACT Award research projects on Ontario’s health system while gathering perspectives and feedback on policy implications and strategies for uptake. Participants heard about an essential medicines list to ensure broad access, a community-based model of care for youth with mental health and substance abuse issues, and a heart failure risk assessment tool for use in emergency departments.

Additional Research Round Tables will be held in December and March (2020) to discuss exciting new evidence emerging from OSSU’s IMPACT Awards.
