
CIHR renews commitment to patient-oriented research in Ontario
OSSU is thrilled to announce CIHR’s renewed commitment of a combined investment of more than $68 million from the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario and provincial partners to support the ongoing work of patient-oriented research in Ontario. We would like to thank the Honorable Jean-Yves Duclos, Minister of Health for this announcement in Ottawa on October 24, 2022.

What is patient-oriented research?
Patient-oriented research (POR) is an approach to health research that:
- engages patients, researchers and other stakeholders as partners in research
- answers questions that are important to patients
- aims to improve health and the health care system
