This publication is a Special Edition in Healthcare Quarterly, from Longwoods Publishing, and features the work of 15 EMPOWER projects.
EMPOWER stands for Engaging Multi-stakeholders for Patient Oriented-research Wider Effects and Reach and has been designed exclusively for projects that can demonstrate active engagement of patient partners that need additional support for end-of-grant knowledge mobilization activities.
The articles share the successes and challenges associated with patient partnered knowledge mobilization and serves as an evidence-based value statement on patient partnership in research and knowledge mobilization, and on the influence these projects have had on health care policy and/or practice.
Along with the special edition, podcasts were created to highlight three themes that were critical for the Engaging Multi-stakeholders for Patient Oriented-research Wider Effects and Reach (EMPOWER) teams to advance patient-oriented research in Ontario.
Episode 1: Identifying and Encouraging Patient-Oriented Research Partnerships
Episode 2: Engaging the Research Community
Episode 3: Engaging Patient Stakeholders
