Dr. Ekta Khemani

Dr. Ekta Khemani is a staff anesthesiologist at Hamilton Health Sciences and an Assistant Professor at McMaster University. She practices across multiple sites, with clinical interests spanning perioperative medicine, pain management, and the care of complex surgical patients.
She has led the development of introductory and advanced training programs in quality improvement and patient safety, equipping clinicians with the skills to design, implement, and evaluate meaningful system change. Her academic interests include perioperative risk prediction and reduction, improving operating room and pre operating room safety, implementation science, and the integration of data and machine learning prediction models to support safe clinical decision-making.
Dr. Khemani is committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, collaboration, and excellence in patient care. She serves as co-director for the Hamilton Health Sciences Knowledge Centre
